Hey Steve:

Thanks a lot for your phone call. I really appreciated hearing back from you in response to the message I left on your "Voice Mail" the other day.

Of course, the main focus of our conversation had to do with the 2013 West Coast Lotus Meet (WCLM) that our local Evergreen Lotus Car Club (ELCC) is hosting this next summer and the possibility that your Lotus of Portland dealership might like to be involved somehow. 

At this point, we are pretty sure that there will be around 150 (or more!) Lotus enthusiasts participating in the WCLM next summer.

You might like to know that the Golden Gate Lotus Club (GGLC) inquired as to whether our club was interested in being the "Host" of next summer's event way back in June, and it took our club (and its Officers and Special Volunteers) a little while to decide if we wanted to "take this project on"... of course, I wanted to agree to do it right away!

I was glad that you've already had several conversations with Mark Velky (the President of Portland-based Club Lotus Northwest, CLNW and also a member of the ELCC) and that he'd already told you a bunch about next summer's WCLM.

I was also glad that you'd already taken a look at the website for the event... you can go to   http://www.westcoastlotusmeet.com/   or   www.elcc.org/2013wclm   and you'll get to the same website. You can also check out the event (and the various comments already made about it) by going to   facebook   and typing in   2013 West Coast Lotus Meet   . So yeah, we're already out there in the "Social Media".

The event next summer is already scheduled in a pretty detailed way, particularly because you need to kind of plan way ahead of time for hotel accommodations and also to arrange and reserve the various venues for the different events and activities as well as the places where you want to eat... it's going to be a big group!

Thanks for saying that Tonkin and Lotus of Portland are interested in being involved as a Sponsor at some level or other. That is good news! And, as I mentioned, I hope to have the final version of the Sponsorship Package ready and available to hand and send out to people next week.

Like Mark and I have discussed, I'm hoping that your Lotus Dealership will want to be involved in a pre-WCLM event of some sort in Portland during the evening of Wednesday, July 3rd... Mark has already arranged a nice discount at the nearby Shilo Inn for people from "down south" (and there will probably be lots of them coming up from California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, etc.) who'd like to stop in the Portland area before their final "push" on to Seattle the next day.

Thanks also for saying that you could reach out to somebody with Lotus USA as a possible speaker for one of the dinners during the four-day event. Please keep me "in the loop" about this. As I mentioned, there really is only one spot where a speaker could fit into the schedule easily, and that would be during the "Banquet Dinner" we're going to have at LeMay - America's Car Museum in Tacoma on Saturday night, July 6th.

PS: It was very interesting to hear that you are soon to have a V6 Exige available to you and that maybe you'll be able to bring it up with you to next summer's WCLM... that's pretty fun news!!!
