Between the two I have a complete Lotus 7 Series 2, 3 that can be reproduced. The reason I am writing is I would like to get the following ad to the club members offering a copy.

Hi Lisa,

You need to be more specific on the engine type. My 7 has a Ford 711M
engine. Homer's is powered by a SOC Pinto engine and many others are
powered by various DOC Fords. The very early models were powered by
MG/Healy.

I have a complete SS header/tailpipe system. It has been ceramic coated. It is for a 1600cc cross flow head. Hope that helps.

Sorry that I have not had an opportunity to   attend more club events. I have been working at Columbia Helicopter as a   manufacturing engineer. It is fun to be involved with old helicopters.
  
 
  
I had a Xerox copy of an early manual but it   was incomplete an some pages were illegible. Recently I purchased an original   Lotus 7 Owner?s Manual. Between the two I have a complete Lotus 7 Series 2, 3   that can be reproduced. The reason I am writing is I would like to get the   following ad to the club members offering a copy.

??? Thanks for letting me know your concerns about the CLNW E-Mail Mailing List. I have included the Mailing List in the To Line so everyone gets my answer as it has been a few years since this has been discussed and?that way?everyone knows my thoughts again:

??? - The reason for the Mailing List is to keep the Club informed and allow Club Members a way to communicate better. I know I learn a lot from reading Every e-mail. Thanks!!! to Jim Boone and Jon Lexau for setting it up.
??? - I try to limit my e-mails to Club Events, Lotus info., British car info. and info. about Events the Club has done in the past?and plans to do again. I think we are pretty good as a group sticking to these topics.
??? - I think all of the recent e-mails about Lotus 7 stuff was FANTASTIC and would Strongly Encourage more of the same. This is Exactly what the Mailing List is for.
??? - I feel the Mailing List is Very Underutilized and has Huge Untapped Potential. As an example I am also on the ELCC E-Mail Mailing List and on average I would say I get more Lotus related e-mails from that Mailing List in a 5 day period than ours sends out in a month, some of which I pass along to CLNW.
??? - The Last Thing I want to do is to Discourage people from using the Mailing List. So Everyone lets Expand our use of this Valuable Resource.

??? Since we are on the subject of the Mailing List, remember everyone, you?can send a e-mail directly to the whole Mailing List, the e-mail address is members at clnw.org and you don't have to use me as a middle man.

For some people, it may be more convenient to receive CLNW messages in
digest form rather than as an instant email whenever someone posts.

In digest form, you receive a collection of several postings in one single
email which is sent out periodically, depending on how active the list is
or how much time has expired.

You can go to the CLNW website to choose the digest option.

That is how I've chosen to receive postings because I know that, when email
is sent your phone, a flurry of non-critical messages can get annoying.

Talk with Garth or Fred and they can help with your tire needs and make tire recommendations, be it for Street, Track, Street and Track, Summer, Winter, All Season, Etc. Etc. . I think they can get almost any tire. They have experience with Lotus cars including the Elise. You will get a Fair Price and Great Service.

The info is a little dated as I no longer have my Elise. YMMV

I put Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 on my Elise for road use.  They were much
better in the rain than the stock tires.  I ca also second the
recommendation of using A-n-T.  They do a very good job and are extremely
helpful.

Hello everybody:

Okay, I may be having a deja vu moment right now, but I thought that I'd send out a quick e-mail message to remind you about what a fun time the multi-day West Coast Lotus Meet (WCLM) is going to be and to encourage y'all to register for it.

At this point: I think about twenty-five people representing the ELCC have signed up to take part in this summer's WCLM; a half-dozen or so from Canada, and; about sixty people from; Oregon, California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and beyond have also registered... so, obviously we'll be having a nice big gathering of Lotus cars and like-minded people here in the Pacific Northwest for at least four days in early July!

You might like to know that the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue (our "Host Hotel") already has almost thirty-five rooms reserved and has assured me that they will be able to accommodate however many people would like to stay there during the 2013 WCLM as we can send their way... and (depending on where you live), keep in mind that we will be having participant gatherings there each morning (Friday, July 5th, Saturday, July 6th and Sunday, July 7th) before we head off to the various venues and activity locations, if you're interested. And, the Red Lion Hotel has offered to extend the group discounted nightly rental rate of $100 three day/nights before and after the WCLM if you are interested in extending your stay here in the Greater Seattle Area for a few days.

Portland Historic Automobile Races

Montrose CA,The Historic Motor Sports Association (HMSA) is pleased to announced that two time Indy 500 winner Al Unser Jr. will be the Grand Marshal at the 37th running of the Portland Historic Automobile Races June 27-30, 2013.

The 1990 and 1994 CART Champion will return to the site of his first Indy Car win in 1984 at Portland International Raceway. In addition to the inaugural 1984 CART race, Unser Jr.won at Portland? two more times, 94, and '95 and was on the podium 4 additional times.

"Our family has been in racing for over 4 generations so the history of the sport is very important to me." Commented Unser.? "I am looking forward to meeting the fans and drivers, enjoying these great race cars and sharing a bit of our family history."

Indy car drivers are not normally known as road racers but Unser cut his teeth turning right as well as left. He won the Super Vee title in 1981 and the Can Am championship in 1982 before moving on to Indy cars. He also won the 24 hours of Daytona twice in 1986 and 1987 driving a Porsche 962 with Al Holbert and Derek Bell. He dominated the Long Beach Grand Prix in the late '80's winning a record six times and became the youngest IROC champion in 1988.

Hey Mark:

I just received a message from Kiyoshi Hamai who told me that only three (3) people from CLNW have registered for this summer's WCLM and I'm hoping that you could send out a reminder to your members about what a fun multi-day event it's going to be and encourage more of your members to sign up.

As you know, the WCLM rarely comes up this far north, so it being held in the Greater Seattle Area almost puts it in your backyard!

I've tried to "attach" one of the info flyers that Kiyoshi put together a while ago and I hope that it works, and if it does, could you "forward" this flyer to your members as a reminder.

be a lot of fun!!!

Folks,

 

Would really like to attend the WCLM but am having trouble fitting in
accommodations.  Although I am "local", living on Vashon Island and
commuting would not make it possible to easily make the morning events (or
enjoy the company of folks later into the night).  It would make more sense
to stay on the East Side, but spending the funds for the hotel for three
nights on top of registration will be pretty costly.  I am looking for a
roommate for the event (probably of the female persuasion).  Anyone
interested?

So.... why Lotus?   Why did you guys spend your 30k or greater on a mid engine go-kart? What makes you LOVE Lotus? Am I the only one who calls random (ugly) girls at the bar by my car's name to make them seem remotely interesting?  Why not get a BMW? (If I hear the last one again.... one word. Columbine)  Why did I get one? I am 20 years old, kinda wealthy (for my age), single and I hate all of my friends.     My engine swap   
Last November I went out for a drive with the Ferrari guys and while playing with a F430 at high speeds my engine went all farty and smokey. I burnt a hole in piston number one between the exhaust valves and the back pressure sprayed oil all over my engine compartment.  The best I can figure is that I have a early Gen 1 Radium surge tank (one of the first) and they had a update and because I am too impatient and home so little I decided to do it myself instead of sending it in.

Hi all, this past summer i got myself a lotus elise sc and had a smile on my face ever since. so my question is what do you guys do when it comes time to wash your car? do you take it to a regular car wash? a detailing center? do it yourself?  I tried washing the car myself but to lazy to do it again. feels weird taking to a regular car wash too.   your opinions appreciated ...
