That car is impressive.

Straightaway I noticed the Compomotive wheels, which are correct for this
car.  I suspect the tartan cloth might simply be the owner's own covering
on part of the central arm-rest. A good idea.

I have never seen the "Lotus Essex" inscription on the cam covers in any
photo of an Essex Esprit, so that is a surprise.

There should be side decals indicating the car's number.

There were some Essex-spec Esprits built, but without the livery.  I read
of one such car where the livery was changed so that it would appear to be
an Essex (this was in Europe).

The VIN of this car should be in the format of the Domestic/RoW cars rather
than the Federal (U.S.) cars.

Would love to see this car locally!

??? The Club Lotus Northwest (CLNW) Track Day is coming up on Fri. Aug. 30th 2013 at Portland International Raceway (PIR). For more information see the CLNW website http://www.clnw.org/ under Track Day Information. To register you MUST CALL Mark Viskov our Track Day Coordinator at (503) 641-7693 (Mark does not do computers). The cost is $220.00 for CLNW Members and $240.00 for Non-Members and you must have your 2013 Membership Dues paid Prior to the Track Day. This price is Very Reasonable when you take into account the extra track time you get compared to other track days and the track will also be less crowded. We have three Run Groups -?Intermediate, Advanced and Race Car, there is No Novice Group. ALL makes of cars are welcome including race cars.

??? I would just like to say Thanks!!!, to all those Club Members who came out to the My British Car Cruise In and Show last Saturday. The only marque that had more cars than us were MG and I think Lotus had about 20% of all the cars!!! It was?great to meet Sean, one of our newest Members and Ted, who has been a Member for some time but I think this is the first time we have?met,?Nice cars gentlemen!!!?Also it was good to have a chance to talk with Jerry!!!

Mark, 

I almost made it to a club meeting! So close. It was this Tuesday. But an emergency came up at work. 
I'm going to the All British Field Meet this year and since the Europa is not roadworthy I'll be a Land Rover guy (I have a Series III).
When I went to look for contacts to find out if I can take paintings to the art competition? I noticed that we aren't there. 
If I take the paintings though, we will be represented. One is a seven foot panel of a Europa. Another is a Twin Cam.

Just in case our club is involved in the meet somehow I thought I'd ask if you know about what sort of commitment I need to make to participate. 
I'll take as many paintings as they'll allow, up to 4 and may let the Landie sit in the display area.

??? The Club Lotus Northwest (CLNW) Track Day is coming up on Fri. Aug. 30th 2013 at Portland International Raceway (PIR). For more information see the CLNW website http://www.clnw.org/ under Track Day Information. To register you MUST CALL Mark Viskov our Track Day Coordinator at (503) 641-7693 (Mark does not do computers). The cost is $220.00 for CLNW Members and $240.00 for Non-Members and you must have your 2013 Membership Dues paid Prior to the Track Day. This price is Very Reasonable when you take into account the extra track time you get compared to other track days and the track will also be less crowded. We have three Run Groups -?Intermediate, Advanced and Race Car, there is No Novice Group. ALL makes of cars are welcome including race cars.

   Sure, we?re featuring Porsche 911s, Corvettes, Aston Martins and Lamborghinis because they are all celebrating anniversaries this year, but it?s not all about the featured cars. Here are several cool ?unfeatured? cars that are going to be getting a lot of attention this year:

Better yet, Neil d?Autremont enticed new sponsor Mark Scholz, the premier real estate broker for car guys at Portland Homes For Cars, to become a new Festival sponsor. We were talking about the Festival at this year?s Monte Shelton Northwest Classic Rally, and the conversation turned to the fact that the Festival car wash just couldn?t hold a candle to the NW Classic Beer Wash. So Neil and Mark took charge of the Festival car wash, borrowed a page from our friends, and agreed to bring a keg to the Oregon Festival of Cars Beer Wash on Friday afternoon. You can use the beer to wash your car if you want, but the recommended procedure is to drink the beer while washing your car with the fine detailing products that will be provided by Griot?s Garage.
