??? - Tue. the 5th - Membership Meeting at the Horse Brass Pub ( http://www.horsebrass.com/?), starting about 6:30pm. This will be the only reminder as it is just a few days away.

??? - Sun. the 17th - Live showing of the U.S. Grand Prix at Ron Tonkin Gran Turismo ( http://www.rtgt.com/?), starting about 10:15 - 30am ish for some socializing. The Pre-Race Show starts about 11:00am with the Race starting about 11:30am. This will be, Bring Your Own Beverage ( Adult are OK ). Pizza will be provided and Your Club will be chipping in?$100.00 to help with the cost. This will be a Joint Event with the local Ferrari Group, who you might remember from last year or know if you have been coming to the F1 Race Replays on the Tuesdays after the Races. More info. to follow.

I fell in love with the Europa as a 16 year old in 1972, when Emerson Fittipaldi won the F1 championship in a Lotus 72. Ahh the JPS, the black and gold!

    New 2Bular Evora S Exhaust - Awesome!!! (new video added)   
I have to admit the standard MY12 Evora S exhaust sounds good, very good in fact but I always knew when I bought the car I wanted better. I had already been talking to Jim about developing an exhaust for the Exige V6 when I had it on order until I switched over to the Evora S (still not regretting that decision  :D  ).

Anyway as the systems are pretty much the same Jim started work on the exhaust to get it to me in-time for my run-in service. So back in May the headers, downpipe and version 1(I'll get to version 2) of the exhaust back box turned up at MMC for fitting:

Wanted to start a thread of all the modifications I have done since getting my car. This way I can display how the car was when I got it and how it has progressed over the last year. I purchased the car in PA from a private owner in March of last year.

Here are the specs and modifications that were on the car when purchased.

If anyone is interested I have two 3 day passes for the F1 race in Austin 
Texas for sale. I bought these on the early bird list but have been offered a 
free pass by one of our vendors for the race so I am selling them for what I 
paid for them through Ticketmaster. They are grandstand seats at turn 12, as 
Alice can attest to from last year,?is a great location to watch the race.  
 

As I am going to the race if you are interested I can meet you before you

    Got Into Car Accident Earlier Today -- Is My Elise Totaled?   
So this morning was my first time out of the house without the baby, the wife, or work bogging me down in nearly one month.  I was so excited.  I jumped in the Elise, fired her up, and went for a drive.

Long story short, I stopped at a stop light behind a white Chevy Cobalt.  I stopped a little fast (so did the Cobalt), but it was nothing extreme.  About 1 second later I looked into the rearview and remember thinking "holy sh** he's not going to stop .

The season is drawing to a close, with just a few more events before the Winter Wonderland Holiday Light Show goes up. It opens this year on Thanksgiving, and there are special events throughout the run, including a foot race, a dog walk night, and a bicycle night. 
? 
It was a season of change, that's for sure. NASA joined in the road-racing mix this year with two events, plus we had an explosion of 5K events. That trend continues in 2014 (the schedule should go up on the website in December), almost a full dozen running races that go on while we are either road racing or drag racing. The numbers are getting better for motorcycle track days and high performance car days, and we are looking for that trend to continue in the new year.

We had a successful Fall PIR Auto Swap, with the south paddock full of booths and buyers, and many of them found themselves in the grandstands watching the Cascade Sports Car Club Enduro as well. Multi-use, thy name is PIR! 
?

Zombie Rises From The Dead!  ??By?Carol Brown
 


After a year of sitting with a broken motor, the White Zombie came to life again in June!?John Wayland was contacted by the PBS Nova?program producer,?wanting to feature his electric drag car?in a segment of the program "Making Stuff," called "Making?Stuff Faster." The repairs were?made and the film crew came to Portland and did some filming at P.I.R. on Saturday, June 8th of?this year.? The show aired in October, but you can watch the Zombie in action at the link, HERE.?The segment?featuring White Zombie is at the 18:42 minute mark.

John Wayland considers the Portland International Raceway as his home track.? The White Zombie?has attracted much attention all over the world, being featured in many TV programs, magazines and articles.? White?Zombie has the honor of being the world's fastest, street legal, electric drag race car.

Gregg Heriford Named King of the Track?  ?? By?Greg Rollin

As an NHRA sanctioned track, every year, PIR has the opportunity to hold a King of The Track race.? While the specific format can vary from track to track, the end result is to crown an overall track champion - regardless of category.? PIR conducts ours as a five race points series after the regular season points have ended.? During this mini points series, points are earned just as they are during the regular Wednesday night bracket racing season.? At the conclusion of the five qualifying races, the top six points earners in each category - Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Motorcycle (Jr. Dragsters and High School categories do not compete in the KOTT) will run off for the top spot - The King of The Track.? In this all run, one category format, Super Pro bracket cars can be paired up against motorcycles for example, Pro bracket cars against Sportsman cars and any combination of the four categories will compete in the five round race until 23 cars have
 been eliminated.? Along with bragging rights, the winner receives a highly coveted NHRA "Wally" trophy plus a cash payout. 
? While you can always count on seeing close bracket racing competition on any Wednesday night, but as you can imagine, this best of each category runoff always produces some very close racing excitement.

After it was all said and done, the series came down to Bill Heard's Super Pro bracket 1978 Pinto and Gregg Heriford's Pro bracket 1972 Vega with?Gregg taking the victory and 2013 Portland International Raceway King of The Track title.?

Dear Mark,

I am an old member from the 90?s.  I have enjoyed reading the correspondence of the CLNW members over the last year.  We moved from Portland to Bend several years ago but we still maintain a small place in Portland.  If your membership is open I would like to join again.  If our plan work as planned I will be in Portland on the !9th and would like to attend your meeting and join if possible. 

I own a 1972 Lotus ?lan plus 2 / 130s.  After driving it for the last decade without any serious update I am doing a full update.  The engine, clutch and transmission are at the mechanics and the car is at the body shop getting all the cracks and stars fixed and a new paint job.  It should be ready to go by spring.

We have a group of sports car enthusiast here.  We call ourselves the ?unclub? as we have not officers, meeting , dues or by-laws.  One us us will sent out an email with a plan and those that can make come.  We try to do at least one overnighter per year.  This year we did a three dayer. 

If you let me know if the meeting is open and the Club is open for new membership I would appreciate it.

Dear Mark,

I am an old member from the 90?s. ?I have enjoyed reading the correspondence of the CLNW members over the last year. ?We moved from Portland to Bend several years ago but we still maintain a small place in Portland. ?If your membership is open I would like to join again. ?If our plan work as planned I will be in Portland on the !9th and would like to attend your meeting and join if possible.?

I own a 1972 Lotus ?lan plus 2 / 130s. ?After driving it for the last decade without any serious update I am doing a full update. ?The engine, clutch and transmission are at the mechanics and the car is at the body shop getting all the cracks and stars fixed and a new paint job. ?It should be ready to go by spring.

We have a group of sports car enthusiast here. ?We call ourselves the ?unclub? as we have not officers, meeting , dues or by-laws. ?One us us will sent out an email with a plan and those that can make come. ?We try to do at least one overnighter per year. ?This year we did a three dayer.?

If you let me know if the meeting is open and the Club is open for new membership I would appreciate it.
