                Open Track Day: April 18 @ PIR NASA NW has the opportunity
to host a track day

Just itching to get on track ASAP?  Need to do some shake down before the
first event May 3-4?  We are looking at putting together a track day Friday
April 18 at Portland International Raceway.  This will be a 3 group open
format with LOTS of track time.  If you are interested please contact
andy at nasanw.com ASAP so we can finalize details.

Each group will be scheduled for a 20 minute session each hour (up to 8
sessions!) That's a LOT of track time!  Price will be $199 and we need at
LEAST 30 drivers.

This event is open to drivers with previous HPDE experience only!   There
will be intermediate and advanced groups AND Race Cars ARE allowed!

Be sure to email me ASAP so I can get a list going and we can get some
track time!

Sorry for the delay in getting this out.  I was hoping to have enough interest secured this week to lock in the April 18 date at PIR.  Currently we are still a few people short of making it feasible.  I am going to give it until Monday
 April 7 to meet the minimum number.
 
If we are able to lock in a few more drivers this weekend I will send out a registration link and details Monday. 

 
If you have any friends or family that might want to come out we are very close to making the minimum!  Have them email me ASAP!   PIR is really giving us a quality day to take advantage of so let?s make the best of it!

 
Some FAQ?s:
 
Unfortunately no ?open? wheel (formula) cars ? sorry.  Sports racers with covered wheels ARE allowed.
 
3 run groups ? Intermediate, advance, Race car.  Yes you can share a car between drivers in different sessions.
 
Tech ? Tech will be on the honor system!  No need to pre-tech like we normally do however, I will be spot checking for safety modifications, etc, and you must meet the NASA rules.   If you are still OEM you will be fine. 

 
We are planning to run from 0900-1700.  We *MAY* be able to get on track from 0830-0900 for some SLOW SPEED ? no helmet sighting laps.

Just a reminder about the Vancouver (BC) All British Field Meet that's coming up next month.

It's usually a pretty terrific show, which you know if you've ever gone, and I know you'd enjoy attending it this year if you are considering going to it. 

And don't forget that the Lotus Car Club of British Columbia (the LCCBC) has invited us to attend a delicious (no host) dinner in a a real nice Golf Course restaurant after the car show... several ELCC members and my wife and I have gone to these dinners after the car show and they've been very enjoyable. It's another nice way to get to know a bunch more people who enjoy the same kinds of cars that we like, even though most of them have a strange Canadian accent!

OK - so I have an 88 MY with the Citroen transmission (30K miles when I bought it, 59K miles now).
The car is in the shop for a leaking radiator, but the mechanic noticed something...

The regular mechanic mentioned the 1st gear shift is really difficult - it was not that way 6 months ago or not noticed). No apparent grinding or metal sounds beyond the usual.  This is one of the symptoms of the Citroen circlip issue:

Hello everybody:

For those of you who enjoyed last summer's West Coast Lotus Meet (WCLM) here in the Greater Seattle area and are up for a "Road Trip", you might like to know that the plans for the 2014 WCLM have been finalized.

If you are interested, read Rahul's message below and click on the westcoastlotusmeet.com link for more information.

The weather in the South Lake Tahoe area is usually really nice in early October, so it ought to be a pretty fun time down there.

If anybody is interested in "caravanning" down to this year's WCLM, please let everybody know... this could be a pretty interesting "Road Trip" for some of us.

PS: I've attached a picture of Rahul's yellow car (a Lotus 7 "Clone" called an Ultralight) in the parking lot of the Red Lion Hotel in Bellevue last summer during the WCLM that we hosted... that's actually Kiyoshi Hamai (from the Golden Gate Lotus Club) and the Red Lion Group Sales Coordinator standing in front of Rahul's car along with a bunch of other Lotus cars scattered around.

I am glad to announce that the 2014 WCLM is officially open for registration. It will be in Lake Tahoe from 2-5 Oct and we'd love to have you attend.?
