??? Good to hear from you!! I think yours will be the first Evora in the Club! Just send in the Membership Form (See below) and payment and we will get things processed. 
??? You get 12 months of Free Membership after your purchase date, after that you would have to pay $1.66 per month. I'm guessing you would only owe for part of 2014. I hope this clears things up a bit.

we developed a Trunkliftkit for Elise R/SC and would like to ask what do you thinks about it.


With this kit developed by us allows to open the hood almost all by itself, and remains in the final standing position. with gas pressure dampers.     Disintegrating engine coolant tank   
So I'm wiping down the engine bay and I wipe the coolant tank and it literally started disintegrating under the cloth. You can see the white part at the bottom of the tank. That's where I rubbed it. Anyone else have this problem? I'm assuming I should get a new one? Overall, I liked the article but felt a few misleading points needed to be
addressed.  This was sent to the editor:

As a long-time owner of a Lotus Turbo Esprit, I welcomed your recent
article on the Lotus Turbo Esprit. I've owned my 1984 Turbo Esprit for over
22 years and have enjoyed it very much. The remarks given in the "Owner's
Viewpoint" were accurate and reflected the experience of someone who loves
the car, who appreciates its good qualities, and who is also aware of the
pitfalls from neglectful prior owners. Properly taken care of, these are
wonderful cars.

I would like to point out some errors, however. Although you are correct in
that the S2.2 and S3 were never officially imported to the U.S., those cars
were never designated Turbo Esprits. First, the U.S. received the S1 and S2
normally aspirated cars with the type 907 engine. Next came the S2.2 and S3
for the non-U.S. market and they had the type 912 normally aspirated
engine. Then, in 1983, the U.S. received what was called the Turbo Esprit
and that had the type 910 engine with the turbocharger, producing 210 bhp
and 200 lb-ft (the Essex Turbo Esprit was in 1981, but that was non-U.S.).
So, to summarize, it is incorrect to consider the S2.2 and S3 as Turbo
Esprits and, starting in 1983, Turbo Esprits were legally imported to the
U.S. Also, the type "901" engine you refer to does not exist among Esprits.

Overall, this was a very good article about a car that is often ignored in
American automotive publications.

Hello ELCC members:

Coming along with this message is a bunch of information about the weekend that contains the Vancouver, B.C., Canada All British Field Meet (ABFM).

As many of you know, the Vancouver ABFM is held at the beautiful Van Dusen Botanical Gardens and it's definitely a good place to see the normal range of English cars (Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Lotus, MG, Austin Healey, etc.), but it's also a great opportunity to take a look at some of the more obscure English cars that were never imported into the USA.

The ABFM is scheduled to occur on Saturday, May 17th, plus there is a fun "Noggin & Natter" food and cocktail party (plus an auction) held during the evening of Friday, May 16th and there's an optional "Drive To Whistler" on Sunday, May 18th that might be a lot of fun.

So... take a look at the information that Joan Stewart has sent and think about getting your Lotus out of the garage, cleaned & polished and give it some exercise running "north of the boarder" this coming May.

We've had a good contingent of ELCC members take part in this event in the past few years and I'm hoping that we can accomplish this again this year... I definitely plan on attending!

    We have been talking about
 the CLNW elections for several months now at the meetings and they will be happening on Sun. the 26th of Jan. at the Business Meeting. 



   
 The following offices (All of them) are up for election / reelection (Two Year Terms) - President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. If you hold one of these and are willing to keep it or would like to turn it over to someone new, please let me know. 



    There are also several Volunteer positions in the Club and if you hold one of these and would like
 to turn that over to someone new let me know, if I do not hear from you I will assume you are willing to do it for another two years.



    Don't be bashful as we are not to big on formality, if you would like to be a Club Officer let me know.

??? Another Great Question!! and I would like to share the answer with everyone as we get asked this several times every year.
??? So here is how the process works:

??? A. The Club Secretary picks up the mail from the P.O. Box and brings it to?a Club Get-Together and gives it to me.
??? B. I look through it and give any updates for the Master Membership List back to the Club Secretary and the dues payment to the Club Treasurer.
??? C. The Club Treasurer puts the dues payment in the bank.

??? So a lot of this depends on Myself, Jon and Jim seeing each other and the last time that happened was at the Membership Meeting on Jan. 7th.?Other things that effect this process?are when the dues payment was mailed, when Jon picks up the mail (My guess is he only picks it up on the way to a Club Get-Together he can attend) and when Jim makes it to the bank. Also work, vacation schedules etc. etc. of?these three people can cause a delay.
??? We may be slow but, we do get?the dues processed and I do not think we have ever lost a payment. Hope this helps!!

??? Neil, going back to your original question, I can't remember as the dues payments just pass through me but, if you are waiting for a check to clear (I'm guessing), see above.?

Mark, Just a note to say thanks for the outstanding job as club Pres. In the many organizations I have or am involved with you stand out as the best communicator I've seen. I wish that I could be of more service to the club, but living in Bend makes it hard to participate. I still feel good about being a member and will do what I can when I can. As long as I'm able, I will hold the Lotus Standard at vintage race events, & continue to pass the word here locally.

Mark, Just a note to say thanks for the outstanding job as club Pres. In the many organizations I have or am involved with you stand out as the best communicator I've seen. I wish that I could be of more service to the club, but living in Bend makes it hard to participate. I still feel good about being a member and will do what I can when I can. As long as I'm able, I will hold the Lotus Standard at vintage race events, & continue to pass the word here locally.

 First, I would like to Thank!!!, all the Members who came to the Business Meeting last Sun. to take part in the Cub election.
 In my prior e-mail about volunteer positions, I said if I did not hear from you I would assume you were willing to continue on for another two years, so based on that plus input from Members that were at the Business Meeting it looks like everything will stay the same for volunteers. 
 The election results are as follows:
 - Secretary - Jon Lexau has agreed to continue on and was reelected.
 - Treasurer - Jim McVein has agreed to continue on and was reelected.
 - Vice President - I have called Mark Viskov and left a message on his answering machine to find out if he would like to continue on as Vice President and I am waiting for a answer. Also Dave Miller and Brent Ohlgren have both said they would be willing to be Vice President if needed. So it looks like we will have a lot of good choices for Vice President in Part 2 of the election ( More on this in a minute ).
 Thank You Very Much to Everyone Above for your Past, Present and Future Support of CLNW!!!
 - President - As of right now no one has come forward and said they would be willing to take over the job of President.
 I have been letting everyone know since the Business Meeting last Oct. that I wanted to be relieved. The last of my several terms as President ended on Sun. Jan. 26th 2014 but I have agreed to continue on until the Tue. Feb. 18th 2014 Membership Meeting. Tue. Feb. 18th 2014 Will Be My Last Day as Club President.
 Now getting back to Part 2 of the election. It will be held at the Membership Meeting on Tue. Feb. 18th 2014 and we will vote on Vice President and President. 
 I have said before many times that I do not think we use the CLNW E-Mail Mailing List to it's full potential. This would be a great opportunity to share your thoughts on your future Club Vice President and President. It must be easy because even I can do it. Here is the address members at clnw.org .
