Lotus and Spyker have been working together for a while.

Spyker announced that Lotus would be supplying them with tuned
      Toyota engines last fall.

Back when I was finishing up college in 2002, I went to school with a guy that worked the Air Freight dock out at Sea-Tac airport. One day he calls me up and asked if I had ever heard of a Spyker, him knowing I like cars and planes. I hadn't and he said I should drive up to the airport. He and his crew had just unloaded 2 Spykers that had came in for testing of some sort. I drove up to check them out after work that afternoon. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw them!  Their high polished aluminum, machined dash with the aviation toggles and prop wheels. The shifting linkage was in full view and it was spectacular. The first car was black and had their signature quilted sewn leather in oxblood. It was amazing. The detail on the pedals was amazing and on and on you could go about the thing. The other car was similar but had white with the tan interior. Many of you might have made it down to Parkplace Motors in Bellevue and seen their Spyker cars that
are occasionally for sale in the show room. To this day I am blown away at the artisan way they finish cars. So today I was reading Piston heads and it turns out that it is completely possible that the new Spyker B6 Venator is a re-worked Lotus Evora. Of course that is a guess, but it's exciting that (if true) Lotus is continuing to expand as platform for development and technical expertise for other impressive marquees in the auto industry. Here’s a link to the story with, more importantly, the pictures:
