Hello LotusTalk - The Lotus Cars Community Member!
Welcome to the April 2014 edition of the LotusTalk.com newsletter!

To start off this month, we have a great article from our good friends at AutoGuide.com about Lotus using Titanium to make lighter cars. Click on the first link below to check it out!
Also in this month's newsletter we've put together a great collection of threads for our community, including a look at an '06 Elise makeover, thoughts about angel eye light covers, and a discussion about the best place to buy Evora parts. After you've read all that, you can click on the image to the right to head to AutoGuide.com to check out their list of the Top 10 Cheapest Cars to Insure.

Enjoy this month's newsletter and remember to drive safely out there!

Titanium Could Help Lotus Build Even Lighter Cars
Titanium, its both light and strong
and pretty expensive. But the benefits may out-weight the tradeoffs for Lotus, as the premium sports-car builder is exploring the dusty silver-hued metal for use in its vehicles.

    '06 Elise Makeover
My Elise doesn't look stock anymore. Wheels are "Anthricite Grey". Front splitter and Exige side scoops are new as well.

I think it looks the bee's knees.

    Elise LED angel eye covers
I ordered a set of angel eye LED rings from "t-revo-r" on eBay, and found some nice covers so they will diffuse better. I couldn't find any thread on these during the routine search, but wondered if anyone tried them before? I'm most likely going to customize them to give them an updated look before installing them. I'll have to find a thread on how to install these halos also. Pics!

Best place to buy Evora parts and accessaries?
I need to buy some touch up paint and an LED light to replace the roof light in my Evora S, who has good prices on parts including quick shipping?

Thanks,
EFE EVS

    Citroen circlip - pre-emptive strike
OK - so I have an 88 MY with the Citroen transmission (30K miles when I bought it, 59K miles now).
The car is in the shop for a leaking radiator, but the mechanic noticed something...

The regular mechanic mentioned the 1st gear shift is really difficult - it was not that way 6 months ago or not noticed). No apparent grinding or metal sounds beyond the usual. This is one of the symptoms of the Citroen circlip issue:

For very detailed explanation, check out Tim E's excellent post below:

    Elise gauge cluster modifications
Just occurred to me that a lot of people probably won't read a thread labeled "Just a Thought" ( http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f259/just-thought-207505/index2.html ), myself included normally, but it's starting to contain some very useful info if you are interested in modifying a 2005-2007 Elise / Exige gauge cluster. I figured a dedicated post may help organize things, and I'll probably upload some pictures as I proceed with the mods I'll be doing.
